Completely new in the box,your radio will come with a AC adapter/charger, ear phones, external antenna and complete instructions as shown below. A nice setup !
This series of Kaito Short Wave radio set comes with solar cell for powering the radio OR charging the battery. The hand crank is useful for those days of no sun light or indoor use - simply crank the handle to charge the internal batteries.
The Kaito Model KA008 operates on 4 power sources:
Dynamo Power - The hand crank generator charges the internal Ni-MH batteries
Solar Power - You can play this radio with direct sun light or charge the Ni-MH batteries. With 12 hours of sun light charging you get 6 to 6 hours of play
Batteries - 3 AA batteries allow you to play the radio the normal (old fashioned :> ) way
Electric - The included adapter will allow play or charge with 110vac electricity - 6 hours of charge is about 48 hours of play time.
Radio Bands of Coverage are:
AM - .525 to 1.710 MHz
FM - 88 to 108 MHz
SW1 - 4.90 to 9 MHz
SW2 - 9 to 13.5 MHz
SW3 - 13.5 to 17.5 MHz
SW4 - 17.5 to 22 MHz
The radio size is about 6 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 2 1/4 so it is small enough to take everywhere.
