ACH-47 Chinook Gunship Helicopter

The transport helicopter CH-47 Chinook first saw action during the Vietnam war. There it was used as a flying gun ship to support and protect assault troops carried by helicopters. The available choppers of that period were the UH-1B and C, which did not have sufficient fire power and combat range, while the larger modified Chinook proved to be ideal for these tasks. Four units were equipped with protective plates and extensive armament of machine guns and cannons.

This kit is in scale 1:72 and is nicely detailed. Made in Italy by Italeri with excellent details.
