HH -53 C Jolly Green Giant

Originally this outstanding helicopter was designed for heavy load transports and a variety of other tasks within the U.S. Air Force. Besides its cargo role a special verison was developed to locate and rescue downed pilots in enemy territory who had been shot down. This helicopter received the designation HH-53 and equipped with in-flight refueling, extra tanks and defense armament in order to operate behind enemy lines during the Vietnam war (1965-1972).
